Family Titles Newsletter (February 2014)
The last workshops were held between 25th April and 4th May 2016
at Westwood Primary School, Lowestoft, Suffolk, UK...
Family Titles was excited to be joining Westwood Primary School, a place of undeniable writing talent... From Nursery all the way up to Year 6, I had the pleasure of working with many young creative individuals who wowed everyone with their seriously imaginative stories!
I'm incredibly proud of every child who attended these workshops, as the hard work put in is plain to see, in the shape of fiendishly drawn characters and irresistible story telling. It is no exaggeration to say that there are some titles that WOULD NOT look out of place on the shelves of WHSmith or maybe even J.K Rowling's study..! Well, I was impressed anyway.

Family Titles Newsletter (December 2015)
The last workshops were held on 21st and 28th November 2015
at Gorleston and Great Yarmouth Libraries, Norfolk, UK...
Family Titles was thrilled to join Norfolk libraries who are in partnership with Public Health Norfolk to promote the Healthy Libraries project (to help people lead healthier lifestyles). Well, the kids (with a little help from their parents) who signed up for our first UK based workshop really saw the full benefit of trying their hand at writing their own full length stories. They got their efforts presented back to them in colourful, glossy and typed storybook form... And all in time for Christmas!
Here they all are, showing off their very first storybooks of this kind.
Some of the following titles will be available to view on our Title Of The Month Facebook page. Check out these front covers.
In the New Year, we plan to present narrated versions of these wonderful stories on our Youtube channel. Please subscribe :-)

Provide an audio recording of your child reading out their own story and we will present it with moving pages on a YouTube movie clip! Contact me for more details paulcook555@hotmail.com

We had the highest turnout to date and enjoyed it as always given the usual wild variety of stories being conveyed. We decided to let the 'Books By You' name go this time around, in favour of the single name also used for the creation of our very own titles... Yes, 'Family Titles' now covers ALL aspects of book activity from now on. Check out some of the book covers:

Books By You Newsletter (March-April 2013)
This workshop was held on 25th and 26th March - On the very brink of Holi... And what better way of seeing it in, than creating stories about the joys of summer holidays! Most of the kids attending the workshop already had plans in mind before even putting pen to paper... And when the writing and drawing started, there was no stopping them.

| Glossy storybooks that compliment the hard work and creative input provided by the Books By You classmates... |
This is meant as a birthday surprise for her little sister. We all hope little sis enjoys these beautifully written verses and delightful illustrations. Aanya also took some considerable time in choosing the best design for her book! She's a real pro, this one...
Alvira Tripathi...
... loves the farm. And now so do I. I just loved waiting to see what animal would be mentioned next in this utterly charming story!
Anannya Balachandran...
I just loved this story of the precious time she spends with her grandmother, Mimi. The fun storyline makes this a potential page turner. I'm still stunned at the amount of time Anannya put into this!
Kimaya Jhala Gulati...
and her gripping story about Sparkle the Butterfly is a sure fire winner in the Children's fiction genre - Delightful story and pictures!
Kishan (Kimaya's cousin)...
Superheros, magic and mayhem - This story seems to have it all. And the main character actually kits these guys up with all their superhero needs. What a great idea for a superhero character: Introducing...
I N V I N C I B L E M A N !!!
Ritvik Singal...
His book on friendship and defeating baddies is a classic storybook theme, and one which will catch EVERYONE'S attention. One to be enjoyed by the whole family!

Sunay Chawla...

We have a major sci-fi writer in our midst!
Riana Basu...
The first comic artist/graphic novelist at Books By You wowed us with her wonderfully drawn Bob Vengers characters. A whole series can be based on these irrisistable superheroes!
And now a few pics of some classmates at work...

The Books By You classmates of the January workshop which took place at Quill And Canvas Gallery, South Point Mall saw their very own stories and illustrations in a final printed format, on March 10th at Galleria Quill And Canvas after being invited to come in and read excerpts from their stories.
All were very happy with seeing the input they provided weeks earlier, transformed into storybooks which would not look out of place on their own bookshelves...

| All the final books, collectively explore a wide variety of childhood themes: School, Favourite hats, Friends, Superheroes, Animals & Aliens! It's all there. |
Those who attended the previous workshop enjoyed seeing their own stories as printed storybooks during the final book hand over and reading event. They also got to read excerpts of their books aloud to each other. Where better to have held such an event..? A bookshop! It was a really worthwhile experience for me also, given the belief I have that children often read more enthusiastically when they accomplish writing a story of their own, and more importantly enjoy seeing a glossy, colourful storybook created because of their own input. After waiting very patiently after the 2 day workshop weeks earlier, children got their books and were proud to show off their handy work to friends, family, school teachers and classmates... and rightly so!

It can be anything you like: A story book or just a simple
picture book with accompanying text.
You can specify how you would like your book to be laid out also
in rough format. At present, we have no strict guidelines as to how you do
this. We just ask that if you have specific requirements, just please make them
clear enough for us to action.
This is a reasonably priced service depending on the size of the end product with an additional cost of printing @ Rs200 per book.
Once you are happy with your finished product, you can also
put your very own book up for promotion and publication through us as a Fenn
Cook Family Title or ‘FCFT’. This is an exciting scheme and what may well
become a prominent aspect of Fenn Cook Family Titles aimed to bring more
children to our desired arena of very young writers and illustrators.
As a
family authorship, you would profit from each book of yours sold.
Your input would be both welcomed and greatly appreciated.
